They inhabit the northern and central parts of the country including Xieng Khouang, Luang Prabang, Oudomxay, Luang Namtha, Xayaboury, Xaysomboun, Vientiane, and Bolikhamxay provinces. Today, they have a large overseas diaspora in the US, Australia, and even French Guiana, in South America.
